Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to pay close attention to concerns surrounding the upcoming Osun State governorship election.
Davido made this appeal in a post on his Instagram page, where he expressed fears over the possible outbreak of violence, the use of intimidation, and disruption of the democratic process in the state.
The singer urged Trump and other international bodies to closely monitor the election, while also calling on relevant authorities to ensure the safety of voters and respect for every citizen's vote.
Davido stated that the people of Osun have the right to exercise their constitutional rights to vote freely and peacefully, without fear.
He also called for the election to be conducted peacefully, fairly, and transparently, without violence or intimidation.
