On the night of Wednesday 1/6/26 at around 9:10 PM, a group of bandits stormed Tsuntsaye town, which is near Garu in Musawa LGA, Katsina State. They fired warning shots at the residents, which forced people who were outside socializing to run home without any preparation.
This is the first time the bandits have ever entered Tsuntsaye town, but they have long been attacking its neighboring towns: Garu, 'Yar Kanya, and Ƙira.
In a conversation I had with a resident of the town about the incident, he confirmed to me saying: "At first, someone came into the town asking for the house of a servant of Allah whose wife and daughter they had kidnapped. After they identified the house, they did what they did. It wasn’t long before we started hearing gunshots three times. From there, what happened, happened. We didn’t calm down until everything quieted down, and then we confirmed they had gone away with Malama Ummi, the wife of Alhaji Ummaru Maiwake, and his daughter Ruƙayya whom whose they had come asking for."
Alhaji Ummaru Maiwake is not a prominent person in Musawa LGA. He is just one of those whose affairs Allah has concealed in their village. He is a tailor by trade. Later, it was said he bought a car and was doing a "kabu-kabu" [commercial motorcycle/taxi] business with it. He is not a government worker, and he has not amassed any huge sums of money.
As of the time of filing this report, there is no report of anyone being injured or killed, except for those two women who were abducted. And it has not yet been confirmed who carried out the attack, because so far no one has claimed responsibility.
However, suspicion is strongly on Kachalla Muhammadu's boys because it is his territory. And just recently, Kachalla Muhammadu, in a phone call with a Comrade that went viral on social media, confirmed to the public that he would intensify his attacks and kidnap prominent people on the Gidan Mutum Ɗaya and Rimaye roads, etc., if his boys Aminu and Nasiru, and his animals that were arrested in Jikamshi are not released to him. It is not known if he has now started fulfilling that threat.
