The funeral of young Isma'il Makaye, a cosmetics seller in the Hotoro Tishama neighborhood, has been held following his death at the home of his girlfriend, the famous solo dancer and TikToker Fati Cele.
A relative told Arewa Updates that Cele came out of her house on Friday morning screaming "fire," and when people entered, they found him burnt, with bloodstains on his body.
He said the Dorayi police are holding Cele as they continue their investigation.
Friends and acquaintances said they had previously had a disagreement that led to a breakup before they recently reconciled.
Fati Cele is originally from Borno State and rents a place in the Danbare neighborhood, where she performs solo dances at a Gala house in the Sabon Gari area of Kano.
His relative said he was taken to Nasarawa Hospital before his funeral was later held in their area, Unguwa Uku, 'Yan Awaki.
Friends and acquaintances have been expressing their grief on TikTok, with calls for an investigation into his death.
Fati Cele has 32,500 followers on TikTok.
