The Kano State Government has requested that security agencies expedite the investigation of the former governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, regarding some statements he made alongside Senator Barau Jibrin, which the government considers a threat to the state's security.
This request follows the 34th weekly executive council meeting held in Kano. According to the state government, the statements made by Ganduje and Barau could incite fear among the public and undermine ongoing efforts to ensure security and stability.
The Kano State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, expressed regret that within less than 48 hours after these statements were made, some communities in the state experienced another armed attack.
The Kano Government also thanked the federal government and security agencies for their support in ensuring security. It further stated that it would not condone the establishment of any illegal security outfit within the state.
Finally, the government urged government officials and politicians to avoid making statements that could incite public unrest and reassured the people of Kano that it remains committed to ensuring peace and security across the state.
