Suspension Crisis: APC Suspends State and Local Government Party Chairmen in Kebbi State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended the state party chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, and the party chairman for Zuru Local Government Area, Aliyu Abubakar Abiola, over allegations of actions that contravene the party's policies and regulations.

In a statement signed by the APC State Secretary, Sa'idu Muhammad Kimba, the party said the decision followed complaints lodged by stakeholders in the Zuru Emirate.

The statement revealed that the two officials were accused of displaying negligence toward party affairs, poor interaction with stakeholders, lack of diligence in grassroots mobilisation, and failure to adhere to party rules and procedures.

The party stated that it took the action after conducting an internal investigation into the allegations leveled against them.

The APC announced the suspension of Abubakar Kana-Zuru from his position as state party chairman, stating that the deputy state party chairman would oversee the office's activities in an acting capacity until further notice.

Similarly, the party suspended Aliyu Abubakar Abiola from his position as APC chairman for Zuru Local Government Area.

In a related development, the Kebbi State government suspended the Commissioner for Livestock and Fisheries Development, Kabir Alaramma.

The Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala-Tafida, stated that the suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further directives are issued.

The statement also ordered Alaramma to hand over all government property, official documents, and other responsibilities in his possession to the permanent secretary of the ministry pending the next course of action.
