Renowned British Artist David Hockney Dies Aged 88

 Celebrated British artist David Hockney has died at the age of 88 at his home in London, according to his publicist. He passed away peacefully on June 11, just a few weeks before his 89th birthday.

Hockney was widely regarded as one of the most influential contemporary artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. He gained international fame for his vibrant paintings, particularly his iconic swimming pool scenes inspired by life in California, as well as his portraits, landscapes, and experimental digital artworks. 

Born in Bradford in 1937, Hockney emerged as a leading figure in the British Pop Art movement during the 1960s. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he worked across painting, photography, printmaking, stage design, and digital media.

Among his most famous works are A Bigger Splash and Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures), which helped establish him as one of the world's most recognizable artists.

In later years, Hockney embraced new technology, creating acclaimed artworks on iPads and continuing to experiment with different artistic styles and techniques. His work attracted new generations of admirers and reinforced his reputation as an innovator.
