The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has placed Augie, Arewa, and Sakaba Local Government Areas of Kebbi State on the list of locations it will no longer post corps members to due to security concerns.
The NYSC Coordinator for the state, Bala Dabo Kagarko, disclosed this during a media briefing at the temporary orientation camp in Basura, located in Jega Local Government Area.
He said the agency has also requested the relocation of the orientation camp from Dakingari to Basura in order to enhance the security of corps members.
Kagarko lamented that the number of corps members being posted to the state has drastically decreased, a situation that has led to a shortage of doctors and teachers being deployed to hospitals and schools.
He added that currently, Kebbi is the state receiving the lowest number of corps members across Nigeria, despite efforts made to seek solutions from the relevant authorities.
