Agency spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that 75-year-old Godwin Obiora was arrested in Umuahia following intelligence reports that he was selling drugs from his pharmacy shop. A total of 4.64 kilograms of tramadol and diazepam were recovered from him.

Furthermore, 84-year-old Godfrey Orji was arrested after security operatives caught him at a secondary school allegedly giving drugs to two students. A 15-year-old student testified to investigators that the man supplied him with drugs for both personal use and for resale to other students.

The NDLEA stated that the students have been placed in counseling and rehabilitation programs, while the two suspects are being prepared for prosecution in court.

In other operations across the country, the agency arrested several other individuals and seized large quantities of cocaine and cannabis in Lagos, Kogi, Ekiti, and Oyo states.

NDLEA Chairman, Buba Marwa, commended the agency's officers for their successes and urged them to continue the fight against drug trafficking nationwide.
