The government's response followed comments made by Bashir Kurfi on a Trust TV program, where he alleged that the state government had sent some individuals involved in terrorism to perform the Hajj.

In a statement issued by the state's Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu'azu, the government said the allegation lacks any evidence or factual basis.

The government stated that such remarks could undermine the efforts it is making alongside security agencies to address the insecurity challenges in the state.

It also noted that these kinds of allegations are being spread at a time when successes are being recorded in the fight against bandits and other criminals.

The government accused certain individuals of using the security issue to achieve their own political and personal interests.

Furthermore, it challenged those making the allegations to present verifiable evidence to substantiate their claims, while warning that it may take legal action if no proof is provided.

Finally, the government called on the people of the state to disregard the allegations and continue to support security agencies to ensure peace and stability in Katsina.
