Israel Expands Military Control in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria by 1,000 sq km

Israel has reportedly expanded its military control across parts of Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria, extending its operational reach by an estimated 1,000 square kilometres.

According to reports, the expansion follows ongoing cross-border hostilities and continued military operations in the region, prompting Israel to strengthen its security presence along multiple fronts.

Israeli officials say the move is aimed at improving security, preventing attacks, and maintaining control over areas they consider strategically important in ongoing conflicts with armed groups.

However, the development has drawn criticism from regional governments and human rights organizations, which warn that expanding military control could further escalate tensions and worsen the humanitarian situation.

Aid agencies have also expressed concern about the impact on civilians, particularly in areas where displacement and restricted movement are already widespread.

Lebanon and Syria have both previously opposed Israeli military operations affecting their territories, amid ongoing regional tensions.

Analysts say the reported expansion could deepen instability in the region and further reduce the prospects for diplomatic solutions in the near term.
