The traditional ruler urged participants to respect cultural values and ensure that the festival, which is an important Yoruba traditional event, is celebrated without causing trouble or harming others.

He said acts of violence, intimidation, or disorder would not be tolerated, adding that traditional festivals should promote unity, respect, and peaceful coexistence among communities.

The warning comes as authorities and community leaders continue efforts to ensure public safety during cultural events, where large crowds often gather.

The Egungun festival is a major Yoruba cultural tradition that honours ancestors through masquerade performances, music, dancing, and other ceremonies.
