BUA Group has denied reports claiming that its chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, made a bid to acquire a 70% stake in the Kano Pillars football club.
In a statement released by the company's management on Monday, BUA declared that the report is untrue, emphasizing that neither the company nor its chairman has ever made such an offer, nor have they entered into any discussions with anyone regarding the matter.
The company stated that the report is completely baseless and called on the public and stakeholders to disregard it.
BUA also urged media outlets and the public to always rely on official statements released through the company's authorized communication channels to verify any information concerning its operations.
Kano Pillars, popularly known as "Sai Masu Gida," is one of the most historic and major football clubs in Nigeria, and it is owned and sponsored by the Kano State Government.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, who is a native of Kano State, is among Africa's richest billionaires, with Forbes magazine estimating his net worth to be over $14 billion.
