IAEA Confirms Buildings Damaged at Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Facility

The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed that some buildings at Iran’s underground Natanz nuclear facility were damaged following recent military strikes, according to satellite imagery analysis. The affected structures were mainly the entrance buildings to the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant, which is one of Iran’s key nuclear sites used for uranium enrichment.

The agency said that, based on the latest satellite images, there is some recent damage to the entrance buildings but indicated that there is no expected radiological consequence  meaning there has been no release of harmful radiation  and that no additional impact has been detected deeper inside the facility itself.

Natanz has been a focal point in international concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme and was previously severely damaged during earlier conflict. The confirmation by the IAEA comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with military actions reported by both Iran and the United States and Israel.
