Some Katsina fans invaded the pitch shortly after Bayelsa United scored a goal against Katsina, and others threw objects at a Bayelsa United player, Nana Abraham, causing him a serious injury.

"The club has been fined one million naira for each of three offenses, which include throwing objects onto the pitch, failure to control their fans, and causing violence during the match," the statement said.

"Furthermore, Katsina will pay a two million naira fine for failing to provide adequate security at the stadium.

"It will also pay two million naira for each of two offenses: being responsible for the repair of the damaged Bayelsa FC buses, and harassing Bayelsa FC officials and players after the match ended."

In total, Katsina United will pay a fine of nine million naira. Additionally, Katsina will play its remaining home games for this season in Jos, Plateau State.

The NPFL has given the club 48 hours to appeal the decision if they are not satisfied.
