There was a heated argument between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nyesom Wike, and Nigerian military officers after the soldiers prevented the minister from entering a piece of land.
The conflict began when the minister personally went to the site, which had already been occupied by soldiers.
Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, an oil-rich state, is considered one of the most powerful ministers in the administration of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.
Wike was seen becoming angry when the lead soldier stopped him, clearly informing him that he would not be allowed to enter the site.
The minister challenged the soldiers to present the documents for the land and the construction permit.
However, the military officer stood firmly in front of the minister, responding to every question he asked.
"Show me the documents you have, you don't have any documents. I am a minister, you can't just say anything to me. We cannot continue with this kind of harassment; it is impossible to continue like this."
"Where are your documents? Why would a person who has reached this level, if he has a problem, not write to me, instead of sending soldiers to threaten people? Who are you threatening?"
