Banknotes Carry Dangerous Germs

As a young doctor (Ahassan Mailafiya) explained on his Facebook page, research has shown that banknotes frequently pass through people's hands through market transactions and trade.

Banknote

· Livestock handlers

· Dawadawa sellers

· Waste and trash collectors

· Barbers and hairdressers

· Cobblers and shoe shiners

· Used clothes and garment vendors

· Toilet cleaners and cesspit emptiers

· Waste incinerator workers

· Sellers of alcoholic drinks, marijuana, and kola nuts

· POS agents, cart pushers, shop owners

Money circulates through people's hands many times within minutes. This is why if you sniff a banknote, you will notice it has an unpleasant smell.

Research has shown that money can carry germs such as:

· Bacteria (E. coli, Staphylococcus, Salmonella)

· Viruses

· Fungi

· Parasites

This is why people who handle banknotes contract illnesses such as (Typhoid, stomach issues, diarrhea and vomiting, skin rashes, hepatitis, eye infections, colds, etc.)

Whenever you handle banknotes, ensure you wash your hands with water and soap and use sanitizer before you eat food or rub your eyes, or touch your nose or mouth.

Food handlers, stop touching banknotes with the same hands you use to serve the public food.
