According to the group, the students were kidnapped during a nighttime attack on a mission school located in the northern part of the country. Gunmen reportedly invaded the school, shooting sporadically before taking away dozens of students.
The Christian organisation said the escape happened after the abducted students took advantage of a moment when their captors were distracted. The students reportedly ran into nearby bushes and kept moving until they reached a safe community where help was provided.
The group expressed deep gratitude to God for the safe return of the students. They also commended local residents who helped shelter and protect the students after their escape.
However, the organisation raised serious concerns over the rising insecurity affecting schools in northern Nigeria. They called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to protect students, improve security around schools, and ensure that learning environments remain safe.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement confirming the escape, but investigations are said to be ongoing to track the remaining abductors and prevent further attacks.
The incident adds to the growing list of school kidnappings in Nigeria, a challenge that has threatened education and safety in several states.
