Tesla Chair Warns Musk Could Quit If $56 Billion Pay Deal Is Rejected

Tesla’s chairwoman, Robyn Denholm, has warned shareholders that Elon Musk could consider leaving the company if his massive $56 billion compensation package is not approved.

Denholm explained that the pay deal is not just about money but a crucial motivation for Musk to remain fully committed to Tesla’s long-term vision. She said: “Elon is a visionary who drives innovation and global change. If we fail to show him that we stand behind him, there’s a real risk he could shift his focus to other ventures like SpaceX or X (formerly Twitter).”

The proposed $56 billion pay package, one of the largest in corporate history, has sparked controversy among investors and regulators. Some critics argue that the amount is excessively high, while supporters insist it reflects Musk’s unmatched contribution to Tesla’s rise as the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer.

Analysts warn that rejecting the deal could destabilize Tesla’s stock market performance and future direction, as Musk’s leadership and reputation are seen as central to the company’s continued growth and global influence.
