Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Dr. Bilyaminu Umar as the pioneer Secretary of the newly established Zamfara State Persons with Disabilities Board.
This was contained in a statement signed by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the State Government, and made available to journalists in Gusau.The statement said the appointment takes immediate effect. Dr. Bilyaminu, 40, is a Senior Veterinary Officer (GL 14) in the State Civil Service and also chairs the National Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Zamfara State.
It recalled that the Governor had earlier appointed an Executive Chairman and six Permanent Members, all persons with disabilities, to the Board. The latest appointment, according to the statement, completes the leadership structure of the agency.
