Shortly after the young TikToker Zainab Gombe, popularly known as Zee Gombe, left the Pantamiyya movement led by Sheikh Ali Ibrahim Isa Pantami under the PDP, she defected to the APC for less than 24 hours.
However, less than 24 hours after switching allegiance from the PDP to the APC, the young woman made a U-turn, backtracking on her decision and reaffirming her support for her former party, the PDP.
Following her return to the PDP, Zainab posted a message on her Facebook page stating: "I left the PDP for the APC, thinking it might be a better fit for me. Unfortunately, upon arriving, I found things to be very different from what I expected. What I witnessed in less than 24 hours shocked me deeply. The threats, insults, and plots being orchestrated against the PDP frightened me. That is why I decided to leave and return to the PDP on the very same day."
She added, "To me, this went beyond mere politics. What I saw exceeded what I believe politics should be. That is why I changed my mind and returned to my old home, the PDP."
Zainab noted, "Ever since the vulture declared its return to its tamarind tree [returning to one's roots], certain people within the APC have been threatening me, insulting me, and attempting to tarnish my reputation simply because I chose to leave the APC."
This led Zainab to vow that if the threats continue, she will spill the beans: "Therefore, take this as a warning: LEAVE ME ALONE AND STOP ASSOCIATING MY NAME WITH YOUR POLITICS. If this continues, I will not remain silent. I will come out publicly and expose everything I saw. I will tell the public exactly what happened during the less than 24 hours I spent in the APC, including what I witnessed and the plans being orchestrated against the PDP."
She concluded: "Take this as a warning."
