In a statement issued on Monday by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described this success as a major setback for criminal groups that have long terrorized communities in Kogi and neighboring states.

The President stated that Bastuje had gained notoriety for leading attacks, kidnappings, and other terrorist activities that have caused hardship and fear among residents of the affected areas.

He said his death would help restore peace and strengthen the confidence of the public that security forces are continuing to achieve victories in their fight against criminals.

"I congratulate our gallant forces on this significant victory. Nigeria will not cede even a single inch of its territory to wrongdoers. Anyone who chooses the path of unrest and the shedding of innocent blood will find no refuge. This success demonstrates the resolve of our security personnel to ensure safety across every part of this nation," Tinubu said.

Similarly, the President praised the security forces for their success in rescuing Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, the wife of the late former Director of Defence Information, retired General Rabe Abubakar.

Tinubu said her safe rescue showcases the professionalism, courage, and synergy that security operatives are demonstrating in the fight against heinous criminals.

"The safe return of Hajiya Amina to her home is a joyous occasion for her family and all Nigerians. I commend the officers who planned and successfully executed this operation. Indeed, we owe a debt of gratitude to our forces for the daily sacrifices they make to protect the lives and property of citizens," the President said.

Tinubu further assured Nigerians that his administration will continue to provide the military and other security agencies with the equipment, training, and support they need to put an end to the menace of banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of crime in the country.

He also called on the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information that would aid in the fight against insecurity.
