U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly threatened to take military action against Nigeria over the alleged ongoing killings of Christians in the country.
Trump, known for his outspoken defense of Christian communities globally, expressed strong displeasure about reports of religious violence in Nigeria, warning that “the world cannot continue to watch in silence.”
He said if the Nigerian government fails to act decisively to stop the attacks, he might “take matters into his own hands,” hinting at possible U.S. military intervention or sanctions to protect Christians.
Observers, however, have described Trump’s comments as controversial and politically motivated, given that he is currently campaigning for another term in office.
The Nigerian government has yet to officially respond to Trump’s remarks.
