Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, the wife of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the IPOB group, faulted her husband's lawyers for not notifying her about his transfer to the Sokoto correctional facility.
On Thursday, the Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment.
Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu's lawyer, announced on Friday that he had been transferred to the Sokoto correctional facility after the sentencing.
“MAZI NNAMDI KANU has now been taken from the DSS office in Abuja to the Sokoto correctional facility; far from his lawyers, family, supporters, and loved ones,” the lawyer stated on the X platform.
In her response, Okwu-Kanu said she learned about the development “about three hours ago.”
She said some people who had visited him earlier in the day did not inform her about the situation.
