Observers say Israel is not solely responsible for the worsening crisis in Gaza regarding the evacuation of patients, even though it plays a major role in restricting access.
Reports indicate that hundreds of patients in Gaza are struggling to obtain permission and assistance to leave the territory for treatment abroad, as hospitals in the enclave have been severely damaged by military attacks and are suffering from a lack of medical supplies.
Analysts note that alongside Israel, other parties share responsibility, including Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, and foreign governments that have delayed or limited humanitarian aid.
Humanitarian organizations have warned that without urgent action, the death toll from untreated illnesses and lack of medical care will continue to rise.
A health worker with Doctors Without Borders said, “The lack of coordination between the major parties and the closure of travel routes have put patients’ lives in serious danger.”
Meanwhile, several countries are urging Israel and all relevant parties to allow safe passage for patients and to open humanitarian corridors, as calls for an immediate ceasefire and increased aid continue to grow.
