Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, said he is prepared to resign from his position if President Bola Tinubu fails to win the state in the 2027 presidential election.
The governor noted that the APC now dominates the politics of Edo State entirely and does not face “any opposition” ahead of the upcoming major election.
Speaking in an interview with AIT, Okpebholo said Tinubu has the majority support in Edo.
He explained that the increasing acceptance of his government now is directly related to the influence of the president on his administration.
“Asiwaju is even more popular than me here now because the people of Edo have already realized that the things I am doing are a result of Asiwaju’s influence,” the governor said.
“You will see the outcome that will come from here because there are no opponents in Edo.”
