Thousands of Americans have taken to the streets in massive protests, demanding that President Donald Trump be removed from office over what they describe as poor leadership and abuse of power.
Protesters gathered outside the White House, chanting slogans and holding placards with inscriptions such as “Justice for All” and “Trump Must Go.”
Some demonstrators accused Trump of dividing the nation and using fear and intimidation against his opponents, while others said his policies have harmed democracy and human rights in the country.
The Washington DC Police Department confirmed that it had deployed special security measures to prevent violence as the protests continued peacefully.
However, the Trump administration dismissed the protests as politically motivated, saying the President would remain focused on economic growth and protecting America’s global image.
Political analysts believe the growing demonstrations could increase pressure on the Trump government, especially if similar protests spread to other major cities across the United States.
