Former Senator of the Daura zone in Katsina state, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has expressed his concern regarding the kidnapping of students plaguing Nigeria. Here is what he posted on his Facebook page:
The kidnapping of students witnessed in some of our states is deeply regrettable and alarming.
This situation has led some governors to close schools. But the question is: is closing schools the only solution?
Truthfully, tackling the security problem we are facing by cowardly yielding to bandits is the easy way out to make people feel at ease.
It has become imperative for our governors to prioritize the fight against insecurity in our states, because it is a responsibility that falls on them. Indeed, during their swearing-in, they took an oath to protect the lives and property of the people.
