Security experts in Nigeria have provided further explanation regarding why the Boko Haram group continues to carry out attacks on the country's security personnel.
Despite the claims made by the government and security agencies in Nigeria about how the group's strength has been degraded, Boko Haram has still been able to attack Nigerian security personnel from time to time.
Experts say that Boko Haram militants are able to carry out attacks because of the new strategies and technology they acquire from allied groups with similar operations in Africa and other countries around the world.
Brigadier General Sani Usman Kukasheka (rtd) provided the BBC with further insight into his perspective on the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks.
He said that winning a war like the one Nigeria is fighting against Boko Haram is very difficult to achieve, considering its ideological nature.
