The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 12 suspects in connection with the killing of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a presenter with Arise Television, and the security guard at Unique Apartments in Katampe, Abuja.
According to reports, about 15 armed men invaded the building on September 29, shooting the security guard, Barnabas Danlami. Somtochukwu reportedly died after falling from the third floor while attempting to escape the attack.
The police spokesperson said the suspects were arrested after investigators tracked phones stolen from the scene. One of the suspects, Shamsudeen Hassan, confessed to shooting the security guard during the attack.
The police added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects who are still at large.
