In a new wave of debate among Islamic scholars in Kano State, Sheikh Uwais Limanci, a prominent member of the Kano Shura Council, has dismissed the evidence presented by Sheikh Lawan Triumph during a recent sermon.
Sheikh Limanci stated that the arguments made by Triumph lack strong religious foundation and require deeper scholarly clarification. He therefore called for a public debate (mukabala) between the two of them to openly discuss the matter and present the truth through knowledge and evidence.
According to Sheikh Limanci, such a debate would help the public better understand the correct position and dispel the growing confusion among followers of different clerics.
He also urged religious and security authorities in Kano to ensure peace and order during the proposed discussion if Sheikh Lawan Triumph agrees to the invitation.
Reports indicate that Triumph’s earlier remarks have sparked widespread debate on social media, with people expressing mixed opinions over the controversy.
